This is the portfolio of Robyn Jo Yates, a young graphic designer and December 2009 graduate from Kansas State University. I am enjoying living and working in Kansas City, and I am currently employed as a designer at an environmental design firm. I hope you'll take the time to check out my work. You can find out my technical qualifications in the resume section, but I'll use this section to tell you a little more about the real me.

I began drawing at a very young age, and it was my fourth grade art teacher who put it in my head that I could become a graphic designer. At that age I'm sure I had no idea what I was getting myself into. When I was little I drew lots of pictures of people and was very preoccupied with drawing elbows and knees with huge circles. I find it interesting that I even picked up on that detail of the human body, but I guess I've always been very detail-oriented.

I am not only a visual artist, but I am also a musician. I am a classically trained violinist and have enjoyed playing for more than eleven years. Creativity seems to be something I am immersed in nearly all the time. I guess that's what makes me an artist.
